40 minutes, performance
Tai Sang Wai, Hong Kong
Fishpond Diving Sustainable Art Festival
I perform a swimming bird.
A bird comes from the inner side of the pond.
You might bring your sorrow and pain, and I will take it to the center of the pond where it meets mother nature’s womb.
Bring a memory, a story or an emotion that you want to wash away. A bird will gently take it to the center of the womb, soak it and bring it back to you with a new story and a life.
The first 30 minutes is my own ritual, then people are invited to participate in this healing process.
spoken poem -
the Great Mother says,
Come my child, and give me all that you are.
I am not afraid of your strength and darkness, of your fear and pain.
Give me your tears. They will be my rushing rivers and roaring oceans.
Give me your rage. It will erupt my molten volcanoes and rolling thunder.
Give me your tired spirit. I will lay it to rest in my soft meadows.
Give me your hopes and dreams. I will plant a field of sunflowers.
You are not too much for me. I welcome your true fullness.
There is room in my world for all that you are.
Come to my child.
You are not alone and you have never been alone.
